My name is Christine Smudde and I was born and raised in southern California. I attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering science, math, and French with a minor in materials science. I spent a semester abroad in the south of France where I studied culture and the arts. I have a passion for travel, the outdoors, and food. I have returned to University of California, Davis to pursue a Ph.D. in materials science, with an emphasis on the fatigue behavior of metallic materials.
